Center-Pin Fishing

Center-pin fishing is fishing distilled to its essence. A long float rod (12-15 ft) pairs with a free-spinning centerpin reel that offers zero resistance to line release. A bobber (float) drifts a bait naturally with the current, matching river speed exactly. When done well, the drag-free drift produces more bites from steelhead, walleye, salmon, and trout than any other river technique.

12-15 ft center-pin rod, center-pin reel, monofilament float line (main), fluorocarbon leader, floats (variable buoyancy), split shot, egg sacs or beads or small jigs, waders.
