📖 Overview
Serranus Tico (Serranus tico), first described by Allen & Robertson, 1998 is a small fish in the family Serranidae (order Perciformes). Adults typically reach 8.50 cm in maximum length. It inhabits marine coastal and open-ocean environments. It occurs in Tropical waters. It feeds on a mix of small fish and invertebrates as a mid-level predator. On the IUCN Red List, it is classified as Least Concern.The species is kept in the aquarium hobby. Care requirements and behaviour align broadly with other Serranidae kept in the hobby.

🐟 Physical Description
Dorsal spines (total): 10; Dorsal soft rays (total): 12; Anal spines: 3; Anal soft rays: 7. Bluish brown head with a pair of red-orange stripes on snout and behind eye; about 8 bars on side of body, red on upper half and bright yellow below, the bars may coalesce to form more or less solid red area, in which case the yellow portions have the appearance of a row of vertically elongate rectangular blotches; across the caudal peduncle is a whitish bar and a red base .: fusiform / normal.
