Gon's sardinella (Sardinella goni), first described by Stern, Rinkevich & Goren, 2016 is a small fish in the family Dorosomatidae (order Clupeiformes). Adults typically reach 14.40 cm in maximum length. It inhabits marine coastal and open-ocean environments. It occurs in Tropical waters. On the IUCN Red List, it is classified as Data Deficient.

Dorsal soft rays (total): 18 - 19; Anal soft rays: 19. This species is distinguished by the following: an elongated body, its body depth constitutes 23-25·2% of SL; lower gill rakers above 12.9 cm SL 50-53; interrupted longitudinal striae formation in lateral scales; prepelvic and post-pelvic scutes count 19 + 13 .Cross section: compressed.
