Long-finned Halfbeak (Hemirhamphodon phaiosoma) is a ray-finned fish of the family Zenarchopteridae. It inhabits freshwater waters in pelagic environments. This species can reach a maximum total length of 5.3 cm. With a trophic level of 3.1, it is a low-level carnivore, feeding on invertebrates and small organisms. It is assessed as Least Concern on the IUCN Red List.
Differs from other species in the genus by many dorsal-fin rays, 21-25 versus 1220 and anal fin origin under dorsal-fin ray number 13-16 compared to 4-11. Dorsal fin origin anterior to origin of pelvic fin; posterior to pelvic fin origin in other species .
