📖 Overview
Rhomboid Chromis (Chromis bowesi) is a ray-finned fish of the family Pomacentridae. It inhabits marine (saltwater) waters in reef-associated environments. This species can reach a maximum total length of 8.2 cm. It occurs at depths between 80 and 120 metres. With a trophic level of 3, it is a low-level carnivore, feeding on invertebrates and small organisms. It is assessed as Least Concern on the IUCN Red List.

This species is distinguished by the following set of characters: D XIII,11-12; A II,11-13; pectoral-fin rays 17-19; procurrent caudal-fin rays 3; tubed lateral-line scales 13-15; gill rakers 6-9 + 18-19 (= 25-27); body depth 1.5-1.6 in SL. Colour of adults when fresh brownish grey in the dorsal side to whitish on the ventral side, with alternating dark and light stripes in the sides of body .: short and / or deep; Cross section: compressed.
