Labropsis Polynesica (Labropsis polynesica) is a ray-finned fish of the family Labridae. It inhabits marine (saltwater) waters in reef-associated environments. This species can reach a maximum total length of 9.9 cm. It occurs at depths between 15 and 38 metres. With a trophic level of 3.4, it is a low-level carnivore, feeding on invertebrates and small organisms. It is assessed as Least Concern on the IUCN Red List.

🐟 Physical Description

Dorsal spines (total): 8 - 10; Anal spines: 2. Lips and a region around mouth abruptly pale, in contrast to dark colour of rest of head. First and second pairs of canine teeth anteriorly in jaws nearly equal in size. Juveniles and small females with 3 narrow dark stripes (bright blue in life). Dorsal fin dark. Males without a white area posteriorly in caudal fin (Ref 9823).: fusiform / normal.
