📖 Overview
Eclipse-spot razor wrasse (Iniistius bakunawa) is a ray-finned fish of the family Labridae. It inhabits marine (saltwater) waters in reef-associated environments. This species can reach a maximum total length of 16.2 cm. It occurs at depths between 54 and 57 metres. With a trophic level of 3.5, it is a low-level carnivore, feeding on invertebrates and small organisms. Commercially fished and consumed as food.

🐟 Physical Description
This species can be distinguished from its congeners by the following set of characters: 7 horizontal rows of scales on cheek; GR: 4-6 + 8-11 = 12-17; gill rakers short, bearing teeth; and tubed lateral line scales 23-26; 2 scales dorsoanteriorly on opercle. Colouration: Head and body pale yellowish to jade green with a large black and white concentric ellipsoid ocellus on the posteriormost edge of its dorsal fin.Cross section: compressed.
