Yellowthread threadfin (Filimanus xanthonema) is a ray-finned fish of the family Polynemidae. It inhabits marine (saltwater) waters in benthic environments. This species can reach a maximum total length of 14 cm. It occurs at depths between 1 and 30 metres. Dorsal soft rays (total): 11 - 13; Anal soft rays: 10 - 12. Distinguished by having six (occasionally five or seven) pectoral filaments, not reaching midpoint of anal fin; depth of posterior margin of maxilla less than eye diameter; snout pointed; and body in life usually dusky yellow or green above and silvery below.: fusiform / normal.
