Oman porgy
📖 Overview
Oman porgy (Diplodus omanensis) is a ray-finned fish of the family Sparidae. It inhabits marine (saltwater) waters in benthic environments. This species can reach a maximum total length of 30 cm. With a trophic level of 3.1, it is a low-level carnivore, feeding on invertebrates and small organisms. It is assessed as Least Concern on the IUCN Red List.

Pectoral fins reaching to above third anal spine; body silvery with four broad black bars; two short narrow black bars ventrally in the first silver interspace on body and one on second; head with a black bar through eye; snout partly yellow .: fusiform / normal.
