Coregonus Profundus (Coregonus profundus), first described by Selz, Dönz, Vonlanthen & Seehausen, 2020 is a medium-sized fish in the family Salmonidae (order Salmoniformes). Adults typically reach 31.60 cm in maximum length. It inhabits freshwater systems including rivers, streams, and lakes. Recorded depth range: 15 to 210 metres. It occurs in Temperate waters. It feeds on a mix of small fish and invertebrates as a mid-level predator. On the IUCN Red List, it is classified as Vulnerable.

🐟 Physical Description
It is a small whitefish species with moderate pigmentation on its fins and body. Its flanks above the lateral line display a brown-orange coloration. The species has a slender, elongated body, a long head, and large eyes set in a thick, triangular-shaped socket. The snout is fleshy and rounded, and it possesses a relatively low number of short gill rakers (15-27).
