🐟 Physical Description

Dorsal spines (total): 13 - 14; Dorsal soft rays (total): 10 - 11; Anal spines: 2; Anal soft rays: 11; Vertebrae: 26. This species is characterized by having D XIII-XIV,10-11 (usually XIII,11); A II,11; pectoral rays 16-17 (usually 17); 3 spiniform caudal rays; 14-15 (usually 14) tubed lateral line scales ; gill rakers 7-8 + 21-22 (total, 28-29); body depth 1.79-2.00 in SL; dorsally olive-brown, shading to pale iridescent blue-green ventrally; top of head and tip of chin are blackish; spinous dorsal fin and scaled basal part of soft dorsal fin are yellowish grey, the rest of soft dorsal fin hyaline with pale yellow rays; anal fin yellowish with scaled basal part slightly dusky brownish; lobes of caudal fin are broadly dusky yellow, the tips blackish, posterocentral half of fin hyaline; pelvic and pectoral fins are pale yellowish; alcohol preserved are nearly uniform brown .: short and / or deep; Cross section: compressed.
