📖 Overview
Betta Ideii (Betta ideii), first described by Tan & Ng, 2006 is a small fish in the family Osphronemidae (order Anabantiformes). Adults typically reach 8.30 cm in maximum length. It inhabits freshwater systems including rivers, streams, and lakes. It occurs in Tropical waters. It feeds on a mix of small fish and invertebrates as a mid-level predator. On the IUCN Red List, it is classified as Data Deficient.The species is kept in the aquarium hobby. Care requirements and behaviour align broadly with other Osphronemidae kept in the hobby.

🐟 Physical Description
Dorsal spines (total): 0 - 1; Dorsal soft rays (total): 8 - 9; Anal spines: 1 - 2; Anal soft rays: 30 - 32. Presence of an orange patch in front of eye continuous to upper jaw when live (pale yellow to white when preserved, character shared with Betta patoti). Large males almost totally jet black or dark brown when preserved. Anal fin with 32-33 rays. Dorsal fin with 8-9 rays. Lateral line with 34 1/2-35 scales. Predorsal scales 25-27. Predorsal length 67.8-69.5% SL .: fusiform / normal.
