📖 Overview
Betta Iaspis (Betta iaspis), first described by Ding, Lei, Haryono, Shi & Zhang, 2025 is a tiny fish in the family Osphronemidae (order Anabantiformes). Adults typically reach 2.40 cm in maximum length. It inhabits freshwater systems including rivers, streams, and lakes. It occurs in Tropical waters. It is broadly omnivorous, taking invertebrates, plant matter, and detritus.

🐟 Physical Description
Dorsal soft rays (total): 8 - 10; Anal soft rays: 27 - 28. This species is distinguished by the following set of characters: dorsal-fin rays (8-10*) and subdorsal scales (5-6*); dorsal-fin base (7.5-19.1% SL, mean 11.7%); male with dark blackish body; absence of green iridescent mid-lateral body patch; dorsal-, pelvic- and caudal fins red without significant marks; blackish anal fin with reddish patches on posterior part .: fusiform / normal; Cross section: oval.
