Found on the continental shelf . Enters sheltered muddy estuaries where laying out in the open on the bottom . Most specimens from dredge and trawl collections . Ovoviviparous . The male carries the eggs in a brood pouch which is found under the tail . Solitary on mud bottoms (Ref 90102).
