📖 Overview

Coastal and estuarine waters ; often found on sandy shores among floating or attached seaweeds . Ovoviviparous . The male carries the eggs in a brood pouch which is found under the tail . Spawns in summer. Young are sometimes caught pelagically in the North Sea .
