Choicy ruff (Seriolella porosa) is a ray-finned fish of the family Centrolophidae. It inhabits marine (saltwater) waters. This species can reach a maximum total length of 44 cm. With a trophic level of 3.7, it is a mid-level predator.

Dorsal spines (total): 5; Dorsal soft rays (total): 37 - 40; Anal spines: 2 - 3; Anal soft rays: 23 - 27; Vertebrae: 25. Body dark blue above, tips of fins black, a black blotch above pectoral fin base. Several to about 10 blotches sometimes on midbody .: fusiform / normal.
