Roberts' gurnard (Pterygotrigla robertsi) is a ray-finned fish of the family Triglidae. It inhabits marine (saltwater) waters in deep-water environments. This species can reach a maximum total length of 30.7 cm. It occurs at depths between 420 and 511 metres. With a trophic level of 3.7, it is a mid-level predator.
Dorsal spines (total): 8; Dorsal soft rays (total): 12; Anal soft rays: 12. This species is distinguished by the following characters: presence of buckler in advance of D1 fin; no antrorse AIO spine; short anterior AIO spines (7-10% SL); long pectoral fin (47-55% SL), its first free ray long (33% SL); eye moderate (10-11% SL); long snout (16-20% SL), nape and breast scaleless; belly with scales; 9-12 short gill rakers (2%SL); dark pigment on dorsum of holotype .: fusiform / normal; Cross section: angular.
