📖 Overview
Rough-scaled flounder (Psettina gigantea), first described by Amaoka, 1963 is a small fish in the family Bothidae (order Pleuronectiformes). Adults typically reach 13.00 cm in maximum length. It inhabits marine coastal and open-ocean environments. Recorded depth range: 79 to 100 metres. It occurs in Tropical waters. It feeds on a mix of small fish and invertebrates as a mid-level predator. On the IUCN Red List, it is classified as Least Concern.

🐟 Physical Description
Dorsal spines (total): 0; Dorsal soft rays (total): 90 - 103; Anal spines: 0; Anal soft rays: 69 - 80. Differs from P. iijimae by dark spots on body not extending to dorsal and anal fins, caudal fin without blackish band, and absence of gill rakers on upper limb. Snout and jaws dark.: short and / or deep; Cross section: compressed.
