📖 Overview

Psednos Pallidus (Psednos pallidus) is a ray-finned fish of the family Liparidae. It inhabits marine (saltwater) waters in deep-water environments. This species can reach a maximum total length of 7.1 cm. It occurs at depths between 0 and 2000 metres. With a trophic level of 3.3, it is a low-level carnivore, feeding on invertebrates and small organisms.

🐟 Physical Description

Dorsal soft rays (total): 38; Vertebrae: 43. Body including peritoneum and all internal organs entirely pale. Coronal pore present. Mouth slightly oblique, 20-25° to horizontal; premaxilla reaching behind posterior margin of eye. Eye approximately 18% HL. Gill rakers paired, spinule plate at tip longitudinally oval, spinules with rounded tips; in a converging double row of 8-9 spinules each. Abdomen short, preanal fin length 35% SL .: elongated; Cross section: compressed.
