Crossroads goby (Priolepis compita) is a ray-finned fish of the family Gobiidae. It inhabits marine (saltwater) waters in reef-associated environments. This species can reach a maximum total length of 2.5 cm. With a trophic level of 3, it is a low-level carnivore, feeding on invertebrates and small organisms. Dorsal spines (total): 7; Dorsal soft rays (total): 8; Anal spines: 1; Anal soft rays: 7. Characterized by head and anterior of body, yellowish with black-white bars, three of the vertical bars on postorbital head and nape connected to horizontal white line; absence of pelvic frenum; longitudinal scale series 23-26; ctenoid scales on body, becoming cycloid anteriorly; head, nape, pectoral fin base and breast without scales; reduced pattern of cheek papillae; opening of gill extending forward to below posterior margin of eye; depth of body 3.5-4.2 in SL .: fusiform / normal.
