New Zealand topknot
📖 Overview
Adults are found among large brown algae in rock pools and subtidal areas. They feed on algal dwelling crustaceans and small fish . Eggs are hemispherical and covered with numerous sticky threads that anchor them in the algae on the nesting sites . Larvae are planktonic which occur primarily in shallow, nearshore waters .
