📖 Overview
Nematops Nanosquama (Nematops nanosquama), first described by Amaoka, Kawai & Séret, 2006 is a small fish in the family Pleuronectidae (order Pleuronectiformes). Adults typically reach 9.50 cm in maximum length. It inhabits marine coastal and open-ocean environments. Recorded depth range: 96 to 650 metres. It feeds on a mix of small fish and invertebrates as a mid-level predator. On the IUCN Red List, it is classified as Data Deficient.

Distinguished by the following characters: large numbers of lateral line scales (82-92); dorsal fin rays 70-73, anal fin rays 58-62; vertebrae 10 + 31; transverse dark bands on the ocular side 5 .: short and / or deep; Cross section: compressed.
