📖 Overview

Multi-barred cardinalfish (Nectamia luxuria) is a ray-finned fish of the family Apogonidae. It inhabits marine (saltwater) waters in reef-associated environments. This species can reach a maximum total length of 7.7 cm. It occurs at depths between 0 and 11 metres. With a trophic level of 3.3, it is a low-level carnivore, feeding on invertebrates and small organisms. It is assessed as Least Concern on the IUCN Red List.

A Nectamia with no dark saddle on body below the second dorsal fin, many pale bars on body, caudal peduncle with an incomplete dark wide bar, mostly above the lateral line, caudal fin with dark margins, subocular mark, thin and triangular .: short and / or deep; Cross section: compressed.
