📖 Overview

The collection area was described by Werner (1990:55-58) as a small stream south of Sao Jose do Xingu (NRM 14605) - a narrow blackwater creek widening at the collecting site and in places 1 m deep; the bottom substrate was sand and mud in part with dense stands of aquatic plants; temperature was 22°C, pH 5.5, conductivity 5 μS. Specimens were taken from quiet shore areas with reed and grass .
