Found over sandy substrate, in estuaries and oceanic waters. Enters lagoons . Feeds bottom invertebrates, including worms, crabs and shrimp . Spawns in the sea but uses estuaries as nursery grounds. Prime angling fish. Important food fish. Sold fresh and whole in markets.
