Lipogenys Hyalinumvelum (Lipogenys hyalinumvelum), first described by Gomes, Silva & Churro, 2024 is a medium-sized fish in the family Notacanthidae (order Notacanthiformes). Adults typically reach 15.40 cm in maximum length. It inhabits marine coastal and open-ocean environments. Recorded depth range: 650 to 796 metres. It occurs in Temperate waters. It feeds on a mix of small fish and invertebrates as a mid-level predator.

Dorsal spines (total): 5 - 6; Dorsal soft rays (total): 6; Anal soft rays: 73 - 118. This species is distinguished from its congeners by the hyaline color of the flap at the posterior edge of the operculum and the light-colored pectoral and pelvic fins .Cross section: oval.
