Dusky sole (Lepidopsetta mochigarei) is a ray-finned fish of the family Pleuronectidae. It inhabits marine (saltwater) waters in benthic environments. This species can reach a maximum total length of 40 cm. With a trophic level of 3.2, it is a low-level carnivore, feeding on invertebrates and small organisms. It is assessed as Least Concern on the IUCN Red List. Commercially fished and consumed as food.
Blind side white, with glossy highlights along myotome margins, increasing anteriorly. Pores: supraorbital 1-3; preopercular 8-13; lateral line 95-119. Interorbital space narrow .: short and / or deep.
