Dorsal spines (total): 1; Dorsal soft rays (total): 54; Anal spines: 1; Anal soft rays: 42. This species is distinguished from other members of the genus by the following combination of characters: D I,54; A I,42; pectoral rays 25; pelvic rays 18; snout length 7-8 times in SL; head depth >2.5 times in SL. Colouration: body uniformly is silver with oblong and irregular white spots over entire body and extending on to anal fin .Cross section: compressed.
