Hyphessobrycon Mavro (Hyphessobrycon mavro) is a ray-finned fish of the family Acestrorhamphidae. It inhabits freshwater waters. This species can reach a maximum total length of 3.4 cm. With a trophic level of 2.9, it is a low-level carnivore, feeding on invertebrates and small organisms. It is assessed as Least Concern on the IUCN Red List.

Dorsal soft rays (total): 11; Anal soft rays: 20 - 21; Vertebrae: 32. Distinguished from all its congeners from the Orinoco basin by the following combination of characters: no bony hooks on fins of males; snout length 9.9-15.2% of HL; 4-6 teeth in the maxilla; and 17 teeth in the dentary .
