Hyphessobrycon Scutulatus (Hyphessobrycon scutulatus) is a ray-finned fish of the family Acestrorhamphidae. It inhabits freshwater waters. This species can reach a maximum total length of 3.5 cm. With a trophic level of 2.9, it is a low-level carnivore, feeding on invertebrates and small organisms. It is assessed as Data Deficient on the IUCN Red List.

🐟 Physical Description
Dorsal soft rays (total): 11; Anal soft rays: 21 - 24; Vertebrae: 37 - 38. Distinguished from all Hyphessobrycon species by the following characters: 7-8 tricuspid teeth in the inner premaxillary tooth row; 5-9 tricuspid teeth in maxilla; 18-21 anal-fin branched rays; small dark spot centered on the basal portion of the median caudal-fin rays, sometimes extending to their distal portions; humeral spot and longitudinal stripe absent; male pelvic fins with hooks; hooks sometimes present in the anal fin .
