📖 Overview
Occurs in the littoral and sub-littoral zone, especially where the substrate is hard and usually where there is submerged vegetation . Feeds mainly on mollusks (particularly Lamellibranchiata). Insects (esp. Ephemeroptera, Trichoptera and Chironomidae together with crustaceans and Hydracarina) were ingested less frequently .
