📖 Overview
Southern herring smelt (Glossanodon australis), first described by Kobyliansky, 1998 is a medium-sized fish in the family Argentinidae (order Argentiniformes). Adults typically reach 19.10 cm in maximum length. It inhabits marine coastal and open-ocean environments. Recorded depth range: 140 to 331 metres. It occurs in Temperate waters. It is broadly omnivorous, taking invertebrates, plant matter, and detritus.
