📖 Overview

Gadella Svetovidovi (Gadella svetovidovi) is a ray-finned fish of the family Moridae. It inhabits marine (saltwater) waters in deep-water environments. This species can reach a maximum total length of 28 cm. It occurs at depths between 230 and 735 metres. With a trophic level of 3.3, it is a low-level carnivore, feeding on invertebrates and small organisms. It is assessed as Data Deficient on the IUCN Red List.

Dorsal spines (total): 0; Dorsal soft rays (total): 73 - 79; Anal spines: 0; Anal soft rays: 68 - 73. Some teeth in upper jaw moderately large; teeth in lower jaw very large; 63-73 rays in second dorsal fin. Gill rakers very short, pear-shaped. Pelvic fins shore, often reaching base of the anal fin. Abdominal cavity extends to below the base of the 23rd-24th ray of the anal fin. Interbranchial membrane lacks scales. 54 vertebrae (without urostyle). Caudal fin weakly rounded .: elongated.
