One-spot dwarfgoby (Eviota singula) is a ray-finned fish of the family Gobiidae. It inhabits marine (saltwater) waters in reef-associated environments. This species can reach a maximum total length of 1 cm. It occurs at depths between 7 and 40 metres. With a trophic level of 2.9, it is a low-level carnivore, feeding on invertebrates and small organisms. It is assessed as Data Deficient on the IUCN Red List.

🐟 Physical Description

Dorsal spines (total): 7; Dorsal soft rays (total): 8; Anal spines: 7. This species is distinguished by the following characters: all cephalic sensory-canal pores absent; dorsal/anal fin-ray formula of 8/7; some of the pectoral-fin rays are branched; fifth pelvic-fin ray 14.6-18.2% of the fourth pelvic-fin ray; presence of an obvious dark occipital spot; without dark spot at preural centrum; the first dorsal fin is clear with a basal dark spot and a dark distal margin .: elongated; Cross section: oval.
