📖 Overview
Weeping dwarfgoby (Eviota lacrimosa) is a ray-finned fish of the family Gobiidae. It inhabits marine (saltwater) waters in reef-associated environments. This species can reach a maximum total length of 1 cm. It occurs at depths between 2 and 36 metres. With a trophic level of 2.9, it is a low-level carnivore, feeding on invertebrates and small organisms. It is assessed as Least Concern on the IUCN Red List.

This species is characterized by the following set of characters: sensory pore pattern group 2, with only IT pore missing; dorsal/anal ray formula 8/8; some pectoral-fin rays are branched; fifth pelvic-fin ray 1/10-2/10 length of fourth pelvic fin ray; distinct dark vertical stripe on cheek extending ventrally from middle of eye to under lower jaw; urogenital papilla not fimbriate .: elongated; Cross section: oval.
