🐟 Physical Description

Dorsal spines (total): 14 - 15; Dorsal soft rays (total): 8; Anal spines: 3; Anal soft rays: 6 - 7. Distinguished from all congeners by the conspicuously asymmetrical caudal fin characterized by the long filamentous streamer of its dorsal lobe in adult males. Most similar to Dicrossus filamentosus, but can be differentiated by having a lyreate caudal fin, both the marginal rays of the dorsal and the ventral part of caudal fin are distally produced into a filamentous streamer .: elongated.
