Dermogenys Palawanensis
📖 Overview
Dermogenys Palawanensis (Dermogenys palawanensis) is a ray-finned fish of the family Zenarchopteridae. It inhabits freshwater waters in pelagic environments. This species can reach a maximum total length of 3.6 cm. With a trophic level of 3.1, it is a low-level carnivore, feeding on invertebrates and small organisms. It is assessed as Vulnerable on the IUCN Red List.

🐟 Physical Description
Dorsal soft rays (total): 9 - 11; Anal soft rays: 14 - 16; Vertebrae: 39 - 42. Anal fin of this species is similar to D. robertsi, but differs from it by the combination of melanophores anterior to anal fin in females forming a broad V with a wide base, extending onto lateral surface, directly adjacent to genital papilla and extending anteriorly past level of anus; also the females have an elongate, pigmented genital papilla .Cross section: compressed.
