Known only from the type locality, in temporary pools of about 1.3 m deep. Commonly found co-existing with other annual fish species of the genus Hypsolebias. Maximum length based on type specimen, to be replaced with a better reference .

🐟 Physical Description
This species can be easily distinguished from its congeners by the following characters: presence of metallic golden-green, with 11-13 large light dark vertical bars in the flank; caudal fin translucent and has no dots; fewer number of pelvic fin rays; dorsal-fin origin through base of 8th or 9th anal fin ray; higher number of anterior rostral cephalic neuromasts; and, cylindrical and elongated urogenital papilla in males .Cross section: compressed.
