Inhabits coastal waters from the shore line to at least 20 m depth . Prefers rocky banks . Diurnal . Feeds mainly on small, benthic invertebrates (marine worms, crabs and mollusks), but also squid and small fish . Mainly caught with spears . Marketed fresh, whole .
