Inhabits rivers and creeks with clear water, light to strong water current and bottom formed by rocks, stones and in some points gravel and sand . Usually occurs in pools below the rapids .

🐟 Physical Description
Distinguished from other species of Bryconamericus from southern South America by the combination of the following characters: body depth 25.5-30.3% SL, mean 28.0; head length 25.2-27.6% SL, mean 26.3; pelvic fin length 11.0-14.4% SL, mean 12.5; branched anal-fin rays 14-18; teeth of outer row of premaxilla regularly implanted; teeth of inner row of premaxilla pentacuspid; teeth compressed distally; and males with bony hooks on pelvic and anal fins .
