Black minigoby
📖 Overview
Black minigoby (Bathygobius niger), first described by Smith, 1960 is a small fish in the family Gobiidae (order Gobiiformes). Adults typically reach 6.60 cm in maximum length. It inhabits marine coastal and open-ocean environments. It occurs in Tropical waters. It feeds on a mix of small fish and invertebrates as a mid-level predator. On the IUCN Red List, it is classified as Least Concern.The species is kept in the aquarium hobby. Care requirements and behaviour align broadly with other Gobiidae kept in the hobby.

🐟 Physical Description
Dorsal spines (total): 7; Dorsal soft rays (total): 10; Anal spines: 1; Anal soft rays: 8. Upper 6 or 7 pectoral rays free from membrane, with 4-7 branches; head very depressed; upper jaw protrudes; mental frenum usually with a straight or slightly curved margin; V frenum with a smooth margin; prepelvic area naked. TRB 23-24; PD 14-18.: fusiform / normal; Cross section: circular.
