Australoheros Robustus (Australoheros robustus), first described by Ottoni & Costa, 2008 is a small fish in the family Cichlidae (order Cichliformes). Adults typically reach 7.50 cm in maximum length. It inhabits freshwater systems including rivers, streams, and lakes. It occurs in Tropical waters. It is broadly omnivorous, taking invertebrates, plant matter, and detritus. On the IUCN Red List, it is classified as Data Deficient.The species is kept in the aquarium hobby. Care requirements and behaviour align broadly with other Cichlidae kept in the hobby.

Dorsal spines (total): 17; Dorsal soft rays (total): 8 - 9; Anal spines: 7 - 8; Anal soft rays: 7 - 8; Vertebrae: 26. Distinguished from other congeners by the combination of the following characters: caudal vertebrae 12; absence of mark on side of head; dorsal-fin spines 17; dorsal-fin rays 8-9; anal-fin rays 7-8; snout robust; wide ectopterygoid; arm of epibranchial 1 long; arms of epibranchial 2 with two short tubular processes; absence of depression on head; arms of vertical trunk bar 7 with the same width .
