Aseraggodes Heraldi (Aseraggodes heraldi) is a ray-finned fish of the family Soleidae. It inhabits marine (saltwater) waters in benthic environments. This species can reach a maximum total length of 4.7 cm. It occurs at depths between 0 and 1 metres. With a trophic level of 3.3, it is a low-level carnivore, feeding on invertebrates and small organisms. It is assessed as Data Deficient on the IUCN Red List.
Dorsal soft rays (total): 75; Anal soft rays: 57 - 58; Vertebrae: 37. Diagnosis: Dorsal rays 75; anal rays 57-58. Lateral-line scales of ocular side 68-70. Vertebrae 10 + 27. Dorsal pterygiophores anterior to fourth neural spine 12. Body depth 2.25-2.35 in SL; head length 3.75-3.8 in SL. Snout not overlapping lower lip. Tubular anterior nostril just reaching edge of eye when depressed posteriorly. Ventral edge of head with about 40 cirri, none broad and lappet-like. Caudal peduncle absent (if measured from base of lowermost caudal ray to a vertical at base of last anal ray); depth at base of caudal fin 1.8-1.9 in HL; caudal fin rounded, 4.45-4.65 in SL. Ocular side of body light brown, with scattered small black blotches, the most prominent two on lateral line half way between head and base of caudal fm; many scales near-white, providing an irregular mottled pattern .: short and / or deep.
