Occurs in quiet parts of brooks and small streams in the coastal rainforest on tertiary and quaternary sedimentary soil . Not a seasonal killifish; difficult to maintain in aquarium . Occurs near coast and not for inland; prefers clearer and more active water on fine substratum .
