Owston's slickhead (Alepocephalus owstoni) is a ray-finned fish of the family Alepocephalidae. It inhabits marine (saltwater) waters in deep-water environments. This species can reach a maximum total length of 40 cm. It occurs at depths between 600 and 1000 metres. With a trophic level of 3.6, it is a mid-level predator. It is assessed as Least Concern on the IUCN Red List.

Dorsal spines (total): 0; Dorsal soft rays (total): 17 - 21; Anal spines: 0; Anal soft rays: 18 - 22. Pored scales in lateral line less than 60. Snout wide in dorsal view, rounded anteriorly. Frontal portion of orbital rim forming a prominent ridge above the eye. Orbit circular. Reaches 40 cm SL.: elongated; Cross section: oval.
