📖 Overview
Akko Dionaea (Akko dionaea) is a ray-finned fish of the family Gobiidae. It inhabits marine (saltwater) waters in benthic environments. This species can reach a maximum total length of 8.1 cm. With a trophic level of 3, it is a low-level carnivore, feeding on invertebrates and small organisms. It is assessed as Data Deficient on the IUCN Red List.

Distinguished by the following characteristics: very small eyes; light pink body color with darker red areas composed of blood capillaries close to surface; elongate body; first dorsal with VII spines; upper and lower jaws with enlarged, widely spaced teeth that overlap the lips of both jaws; greatly reduced head pores, occasionally absent .
