🐟 Physical Description

Dorsal soft rays (total): 11; Anal soft rays: 8; Vertebrae: 44. Distinguished from its very similar species, Triplophya leptosoma, by having the following characters: very wide trunk (the maximum thickness significantly exceeds the maximum depth); comparatively deeper body, caudal peduncle and dorsal fin; more posterior position of the beginning of the dorsal fin; larger ventroanal distance (16.4% SL); anus, settles out of the beginning of the anal fin to more than the orbit diameter .: elongated.
