📖 Overview
Telmatherina Prognatha (Telmatherina prognatha), first described by Kottelat, 1991 is a small fish in the family Telmatherinidae (order Atheriniformes). Adults typically reach 8.40 cm in maximum length. It inhabits freshwater systems including rivers, streams, and lakes. It occurs in Tropical waters. It is broadly omnivorous, taking invertebrates, plant matter, and detritus. On the IUCN Red List, it is classified as Near Threatened.

🐟 Physical Description
Differs from its congeners by its slender body and its 'predator' appearance, with strong jaws, anterior horizontal portion of premaxilla conspicuously projecting and toothed, about as long as lateral part and as distance between posterior tip of maxilla and eye. Also distinguished by its rounded anal and second dorsal fins, and its relatively short caudal peduncle (length/ depth: 1.49-1.57) .
