Palefin dragonet (Synchiropus goodenbeani) is a ray-finned fish of the family Callionymidae. It inhabits marine (saltwater) waters in benthic environments. This species can reach a maximum total length of 18.4 cm. It occurs at depths between 47 and 396 metres. With a trophic level of 3.6, it is a mid-level predator. It is assessed as Least Concern on the IUCN Red List.

Marine; demersal; depth range 47 - 396 m , usually 100 - 200 m . Subtropical; 43°N - 23°N south to off the Florida Peninsula, through the Straits of Florida, and along the coast of northern Gulf of Mexico.
