📖 Overview

Striped giant seabass (Stereolepis doederleini) is a ray-finned fish of the family Stereolepididae. It inhabits marine (saltwater) waters in deep-water environments. This species can reach a maximum total length of 200 cm. It occurs at depths between 400 and 600 metres. With a trophic level of 4.5, it is an apex predator. Commercially fished and consumed as food.
